Scooby joins the Circus

Scooby in the Spotlight!

With the recent release of Big Top Scooby Doo! I thought I'd show off a few fun filled panels of the exceptional artwork I was able to achieve with the help of my cohort Art Nichols (who really brings his A-game to the characters of Shaggy and Scooby, if I do say so myself).   As a big Scooby fan, I was excited to see this hit the market.  You should pick up a copy at iTunes, make hot dogs and popcorn (carny food) and make a Scooby night of it!

Perrier presents The Black Lords by Desi Santiago - the Comic prequel by Kirk Van Wormer

I'd like to present the artwork from the prequel comic (told only in pictures) I created to accompany Desi Santiago's amazing piece premiering next week at the Lords Hotel,  Miama at Miami Basil.  Desi is an amazing artist and performer who has created a plethora of crazy, exotic and disturbing characters over the years.  Everything in the comic is inspired or directly derived from these iconic creatures.  You can see more of this piece as it nears completion on Desi's Facebook page : https://www.facebook.com/pages/Desi-Santiago/191477447586408

Working on a series of artwork to accompany an amazing installation by artist Desi Santiago at the Lords Miami Beach hotel this December.  Sample images below and more to come:

Real Life Coney Island Geeks!

Here are few pieces from a really cool project I worked on with my good friend Luis Antezana for what has to be, hands down, the coolest recruitment party that Mr. Softy has every thrown.  Fire-breathing programmers, a tent full of nerdly goodness and Cotton Candy?  If Bill comes out and bites the head off an iPhone it could be the greatest promotional event of all time.

Raccoons in my trash

A cool panel from a secret little bit of something I helped out on recently.   When it comes out, I'll tag this appropriately.  Until then, just enjoy the chaos.

From Dusk Till Dawn (Big Entertainment)

Posted by inker extraordinaire and close friend Art Nichols.  Something from back in the day.  (Alternate cover to the movie adaptation comic that ended up being printed as a pin up).  Hopefully I've grown a little since then, but still a very fun project to be included in.
(will try to post a bigger version next time I run across the original)

A very Merry Christmas indeed.

So as I'm playing catch up on posting all the wonderful and crazy things I've been up to, I've failed to mention getting to work on a particularly cool Farm-related web-only Christmas special for a very special client. I was fortunate enough to get to do character design for this animated short promoting the characters in this popular online game and their adorable Christmas escapade.

If you get a chance to view it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed getting to translate these very identifiable characters to the little screen.   Merry Belated Christmas!

John Carter, Warlord of Mars sucked....

...but Sword of the Atom is gonna kick alien butt!  Stay tuned for samples of those boards when DC Nation debuts this series of awesome shorts!  (Also, Gil Kane rocks)

Teen Titans GO!

DC Nation is here.  Check out all the great episodes, but even more importantly, check out all the really great interstitials!  Can't show you much yet, as The Teen Titans shorts are debuting tomorrow, but here's a panel or two from upcoming episodes to wet your appetite.  Stay tuned for more as they hit the airwaves.

Scooby Doo! Music of the Vampire

...is out! And you should watch it with a loved one or a kid.  Or with Cheese nips in a Snuggy.  It's great fun.  I was tickled to do the opening.  And it's a musical, so that's something very different for Scooby.  Here's a little sample of some work from the movie to entice you to see it:

Transformers: Prime

Alright kids, to avoid any confusion I really can't show my TF: Prime work here in any detail (thought I'll try to upload some more scenes from the actual show soon) but needless to say it's the best work I've ever done on the best project with the best people.  As soon as I can post it I will.   It's an honor to work with this crew, let alone be nominated twice for an Emmy.  (yeah, that's a brag to make up for the lack of boards!  lol).  Hopefully soon, I'll have some more crazy  stuff I've been able to work on during the hiatus.  Now get out to iTunes and download those TF:Prime Episodes!  And watch our new season now, Saturdays on HUB to see how amazing this show really is!

Something from a Generator Rex

Most everything I do these days seems to have a 6 month to a year 'top secret' status; meaning I can't post anything until after it airs.  Even then, there are often limitations as to what can be released.  All part of getting to play with some of the best properties ever created, so I'm not kvetching at all.  But the other day, I ran across a particularly nice episode of Generator Rex on Cartoon Network from way back in Season 1.   It was one that I was fortunate enough to get to work on, and this episode was particularly fun because I had a lot of artistic freedom to develop a real feel for Rex's flashback experiences in Hong Kong.  Posting some of the finished work here (along with a smattering of pages so you can see how I was able to help guide the look and feel of some shots).  Until such time as the link is smashed, here's the episode for your enjoyment:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dE2ATKz8Tqo
